Hello BAC Patrons!
Welcome to the BAC blog. It is our intention to use this blog as a new method for us to communicate with our patrons about everything from exciting news to upcoming events and plans. There should be updates to this page, big or small, every other week. We hope this will be a palatable way for our members to keep in touch with everything that is going on at everyone’s favorite pool!
This week there are two major updates, one is great news, and the other is less great. Let’s start with the great news.
Over the weekend the BAC age group swim team competed in their final intrasquad meet of the year. If you don’t know, our swim team has been hosting about one competition per month, following all safety guidelines. Our goal has been to give our team members some excellent opportunities to continue their growth as athletes, while staying safe and healthy. As everyone is well aware, most of our lives have changed significantly in 2020, and we are so happy to be able to provide some normalcy in the lives of our young swimmers. BAC is one of the only swim teams in the Bay Area that has been able to host sanctioned competitions this year, and we are so proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our coaches, athletes, and especially volunteers! Check out the team’s Instagram page @bac_swims
Now for the less great news. From January 15 through the 31st, the BHS pool will be closed for maintenance purposes. This means that most of our programs will be on hiatus during that time. Yes, we did just complete the new pool one year ago, but I promise this is a completely necessary closure. There are some collapsed pipes out front of the facility that are connected to the pool that will need to be dug up and replaced. We hope all of our patrons understand.
Thanks for checking out our first of many blog posts! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
